Meditation | |
In today's high pressure lifestyle there seems to be no place for just being still. Our bodies and minds are stretched to the limits, if we do find time to try and relax our bodies are so full of tension with the mind constantly racing with the days events that it is difficult to unwind.
Meditation classes include gentle stretching exercises that will relieve the body of unwanted tension. By gently easing out the aches and pains it becomes easier to be comfortable during the relaxation period. Also, by becoming more aware of how the body is feeling, it enables us to prevent the build up of debilitating aches and pains.
Most importantly, learn simple but effective breathing techniques. If one looks at a baby breathing it will be noticed that their tummy rises and falls as they breathe. With the fear and danger that is introduced to us as we grow into adulthood, shallow breathing becomes the norm and the lungs never receive their full quota of fresh air. No wonder we are tired all of the time. The breathing techniques teach us to be aware of how we are breathing and the body will respond by feeling energised, healthier and enabling more restful sleep.
Finally, deep relaxation is experienced whilst lying down listening to soft music. The meditation begins with a guided visualisation taking the recipient to a beautiful place and leaving them to discover their true self. Here there can find peace of mind and clarity of thought.
The whole meditation process re-charges our batteries, revitalising our minds, bodies and spirits.
