Osteopathy looks at the inter-relationship between the structure of the body and the way in which it functions. An Osteopath assesses the patient from a mechanical, functional and postural viewpoint and applies a manual hands- on treatment to suit the individual's needs. An Osteopath uses a variety of techniques which may include soft tissue massage, rhythmic stretching techniques, articulation, traction, manipulation and exercises. Gentle release techniques are widely used and osteopathic treatment is seldom painful.
