Crowthorne Berkshire

Physiotherapy can help you to return to a painfree, fully functional lifestyle that you had prior to your symptoms starting. You will be given an exercise programme which you will be advised to continue to prevent the problem from re-occurring.

What Conditions Can it Help?

•Muscle or joint pain/stiffness
•Golfers or Tennis Elbow
•Arthritis or Osteoporosis
•Chronic Pain
•Tendonitis
•Headaches
•Back or neck pain ie prolapsed discs or trapped nerves
•Sports injuries
•Sciatica
•Frozen shoulder
•Acupuncture
•Women’s Health
•Post operative surgery ie following an arthroscopy.
•Myofascial trigger points
•Muscle spasm and inflexibility

Please note, this list is not exhaustive and if you would like to discuss your condition further, please feel free to call the Clinic.

What types of treatment can I expect to receive?

Following the initial assessment treatment a wide range of treatment techniques are offered and these may include:

•Joint mobilisation to reduce stiffness and improve circulation to the area.
•Soft tissue techniques/massage to reduce muscle spasm, scar tissue, improve muscle length.
•Electrotherapy - Ultrasound, TENS machine for pain relief and to facilitate your body's own healing process.
•Acupuncture for excellent quick yet maintained pain relief.
•Exercise rehabilitation programme to maintain the benefits you gain from the physio treatment.
•Advice on injury prevention and self management to prevent symptoms from re-occurring.
•Ergonomic advice for your work and daily living ie driving, housework etc.
What can I expect from my first visit?

Your first appointment will be 45 minutes during which time a lot of questions are asked about your condition including:

How the problem started?
What the symptoms are?
Where you feel your symptoms?
What makes them better?
What makes them worse?

This insight into the condition, coupled with an examination of the area, will allow a decision as to which treatment is going to be most effective.

This first session is also important in identifying the issues and establishing a recovery plan which you can also do at home to aid your own receovery.

By the end of the first session, you will have an idea of treaments and techniques which may be used and how long it may take to get you better as quickly, effectively and painlessly as possible.

Do I need a GP referral?

No, you can refer yourself and make appointments by calling the Clinic on 01344771212

Can I claim the cost of treatment back through my insurance cover?

Yes, you should be able to.  Beth le Grand is registered by most of the major health insurance providers (BUPA & PPP) but please don't hesitate to call should you have any questions.
