Aromatherapy massage is one of the best ways to beat stress along with many other day-to-day ailments, too. It uses very potent Essential Oils that are blended in a vegetable oil which are then applied to the skin via a deeply relaxing massage. This could either be a full or half body massage.
Essential oils are derived from various parts of plants and have a very pleasant odour. They carry a host of therapeutic properties and your aromatherapist will blend a very individual combination of Essential Oils to suit you.
The Essential Oils are not only absorbed by the body through the skin, but are also inhaled. Here they are registered by the part of the brain that is responsible for all the body’s most primitive drives, such as hunger, thirst, fright & flight responses, sex drive, etc.. and just like walking past a fish & chip shop can trigger all sorts of physical responses in your body, like watering mouth, hunger, appetite…, Essential Oils can also have a very physical effect on your body. They can be calming or stimulating, ease stress and have a very strong effect on the body’s hormone system.
